Building Permit Application Instructions

Starting January 2, 2024, our building permitting process is going FULLY DIGITAL!

NOTE TO CONTRACTORS: 

1. Before applying for a permit, ensure your company is registered with our city and all licenses and insurance are up to date. To check the status of your registration, contact our office at 305-792-1735 or email us at info.building@sibfl.net
2. Sign Up for a portal account.
3. Request your company's access code by calling us at 305-792-1735 or emailing us at info.building@sibfl.net. Please note that, once requested, your access codes will be emailed to the email address registered on file for the company.
4. Click on your portal account's profile name and enter your company's access code.

NOTE TO HOMEOWNERS:

1. If you live in a condominium, please note that a licensed contractor must apply for your permit(s.) However, you can view the application progress, pay fees, and follow up on the status of all your permits, by creating a portal account: 
   • Sign Up for a portal account.
   • Request your property's access code by calling our office at 305-792-1735 or emailing us at info.building@sibfl.net 
   • Click on your portal account's profile name and enter your property's access code.
2. Owner builder permits are only allowed on single family residences. Please contact our building department at 305-792-1735 for instructions on how to apply as an owner builder. You can also email us at info.building@sibfl.net
